mzingg
It all started a couple of days ago, my fathers Toshiba laptop's hard drive broke after 4 months of use (he dropped it, but doesn't want to admit it), so we bought a new hard drive. Along with that computer we got a new Acer, and we have a 4 month old HP Pavilion laptop. What the goal of this mission is, is to be able to file share. All three computers are running Windows Vista, yet only the HP and Acer are connected (?) to the Network and Workgroup. The reason for the (?) is because the Toshiba laptop, while is connected to the internet through the same router and Network cannot file-share like the Acer and HP are currently. I have tried all the basic problems and nothing seems to work, such as different workgroup names, and file share disabled. Another key to the puzzle is under Network and Sharing Center, when I click View Full Map in the top right corner, the three computers are there, yet the Toshiba is un-clickable, while the Acer and HP areWell, thanks for reading, and thanks for future answers! homecomputeraid
Have you checked firewall settings on all 3 computers? As a test, you could make sure the firewall on each computer is disabled, then try.
