1Tek Posted May 16, 2008 Report Share Posted May 16, 2008 Hello all!I was working a PC trying to stop a "New hardware found" pop-up. I tried to identify the device and download the drivers from the net, but I can't. Where can I get info on the device in question, like a manufacturer ID or similar so I can get the right drivers?I've tried the device manager, but all it says is "unknown". I was given all the USB devices they use: webcam, keyboard, camera, and thumbdrive. All seem to work just fine! I even unplugged everything except the keyboard and the message still comes up! Surely the keyboard has the right drivers...it's working.I admit to not being the greatest windows admin, but this should be simple. So how do I identify the device it thinks it has found?Also of note, this PC was massively infected with viruses/adware, which I have cleaned up.Thanks in advance for ANY pointers, Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
