??????????ACTIVE DESKTOP???????????????????

Hi,

I have a network of 100+ computers and have a GPO deployed with active desktop enabled!!! NOW, THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN YOU LOGON U DO NOT SEE THE DESKTOP BUT WHEN YOU LOGIN AGAIN YOU SEE THE ACTIVE DESKTOP!!!!!,,, does any1 know any scripts to keep refreshing the desktop? (I have tried the F5 Keys and they do not work))))

I'm not sure how to have it refresh, but do you need Active Desktop on for some reason?

To refresh the desktop is usually right-click+E; I wouldn't know how to do that in a script.

However, the behaviour is not normal; do all 100 workstations behave the same way? If so, what is different from that network from a "normal" network?

Thanks for the replies guys!!!!!,,,, yes the active desktop is needed as it will provide a constant interface in the background where people can close the internet browser but still have the active desktop with links to websites and information which is critical. The behaviour is different on some of the machines!!! ANYMORE IDEAS???

Please see if there is anything of interest in the event logs of the local machines.

You might also consider using some free tools from Sysinternals like Process Explorer to gain some insight into what's not working right.
