Okay then.

I've been trying to fix a friends computer, originally they wanted me to install a printer (which didn't work).

So second I install anti-virus and firewall.

Avast! and Comodo.

I don't get any popups from Comodo accept two one for a process and another talking about my network, I don't have it to play around with at the moment so I cannot tell you the specifics.

So I try to boot up the internet and I get a cannot connect problem.

I remove comodo.

Open up IE nothing, CMD ping google.com yay I have something.

I spend ages trying to get IE7 to connect but nothing, I install firefox nothing, I run CClean nothing.

Vista is still saying that I have firewall protection (comodo) but its not installed.

But I'm getting a valid address,

I install comodo again, run IE & firefox nothng ping google.com nothing.

IP address is an APIPA address.

So I try to do system restore and that fails!!

What do i do!!

I really don't want to leave them with no internet access, I spent 4 hours infront of the laptop trying to fix it and nothing :( .
