ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Welcome to the Windows Forum.Check the Device Manager and see if the audio driver is still correctly installed, or if it has a yellow exclamation mark on it. Try to uninstall and reinstall it (or simply click on 'Update driver').What Windows version are you on? XP and Vista can use http://www.drivermax.com/ to find driver replacements. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
The way the volume control acts indicates to me that something is wrong with the driver. What is your audio device - integrated, or a separate card? Make a careful note what your audio device is, uninstall the driver, then reinstall it (maybe using Add Hardware from Control Panel).
