remove network?

I'm a total windows novice so bear with me. In the process of stumbling through installing three printers on my little wireless home setup (I only have one computer a laptop) I ended up setting up a network with 'shared' printers and files.

I don't need this since it is just me and I think it is screwing up my printer setups and the spooler etc.

How do I undo this? I do not know how to 'uninstall' or remove this network and get back to the way it was.

Welcome to the Windows Forum.

Indeed, if you only have one computer you don't need a network. However, since we don't know how and what kind of network you've set up, there is little we can advise how to undo your changes.

Easiest, perhaps, would be to run a System Restore to a point before you set up your network. (I assume that the three printers are physically attached to your laptop computer, so there won't be any changes required there.)

Re-reading your post makes your request more clear - you just want to remove the shares.

Open Windows Explorer, then right-click on the shared items and select Properties. On the Sharing tab you should be able to unshare the item.

I did this. Thanks. However, when I go to 'System properties'>'computer name' my computer is a part of workgroup MSHOME.

I'd like to un-join this workgroup if possible.

For some reason when I try to sys-restore to a day or two before all this the SR doesn't work. I get an error after the computer reboots and it says nothing was changed :(

It doesn't really matter; you can change the workgroup back to blank (right-click My Computer, Properties, tab Computer Name, Change).
