Mapping a network drive

2 environments. 1 has an active directory with user authentication, the other doesnt. Comms opened between the 2. I want to map a network drive from a machine on the AD network to a share on a server on the no-AD network.

So client A on AD network.

Server B on non-AD network.

I created a user test_drive/password with admin privs on server B and I shared out g: and granted rights to my user.

Client A can ping, remote desktop to Server B and with cygwin installed I can ssh to it all with the test_drive user.

However, when I go to map a shared drive from client A to Server B, I force the login with user/pass = test_drive/password, I keep getting the prompt back to login so its as though its not recognising the user or its as though the user doesnt have rights. If I put in a bad password 3 times I get a "account is locked out" so I know the user is being authenticated so it must be a permissions thing.

Anyone any ideas? the user definitely has admin rights and in the share config, its granted explcitily.
