How can I remove second windows setup at start-up.Please help.

Recommended Posts

I have installed Windows XP SP3 on my compiuter in english.Then I got another copy of windows XP SP2 in italian.I wanted to prove if this disk was ok so I run setup from windows.I put the serial number and the disk was ok but then accindentally I clicked the next button and it began to check for updates (in the internet or on my disk,I dont now).After finishing the update (for 2-3 minutes) I interrupted the setup by pushing the reset button.Now when I turn on my compiuter it shows two choises:

1.Windows XP Professional

2.Windows XP Professional setup

Can you help me to remove this nag screen that appears always at start up. :(

It's not a nag screen; it is the Windows boot manager.

You can remove it easily with MSCONFIG - see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/289022

If you are unsure what to do, post the current contents of your boot.ini file, and someone will guide you on what exactly to do.

Go to start->run

Type msconfig and hit enter

Click on BOOT.INI tab and there change the timeout value to 1 and click Ok

Now it will never wait for your response and Windows will load automatically
