sharanbr Posted June 12, 2009 Report Share Posted June 12, 2009 Hi,For last 3-4 weeks I am almost at my ends end trying to figure out high cpu usage (and thus not allowing meto do even simple jobs).I am observing that one the 3 processes - services.exe, svchost.exe, winlogon.exe always show a high cpu utilization.In a 60 minute window, they use atleast 45 minutes of 90-98% cpu.The issue generally starts with services.exe. When I kill it, svchost.exe takes over. When I kill it, winlogon.exe takesover. Few observations I made (using process explorer):1. these processes tend to execute under my user name2. the parent process info shows non-existent3. current path: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Any clue would be very helpful.I can post more info. but did not want to flood the post with too much unwanted info.Regards Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Do you have anti-virus, anti-spyware?Can you download Trendmicro Housecall and run a scan of your system?Thanks.I have symantec anti virus whcih runs once a week.I dont have anything other than that.
