hello;

I have vista home premium;

according to Network and Sharing Center, the vista is connected to my home network which is connected to the internet ( cute network diagram );

according to Network Connection Details the vista has IPv4 IP Address = 192.168.2.3 and the IPv4 Default Gateway = 192.168.2.1;

however, when I open a web browser on the vista and try to access http://192.168.2.1 I get a Problem Loading Page error; however my XP laptop has no problems; when I use Windows Network Diagnostics I get a "Cannot communicate with Primary DNS Server ( 192.168.2.1)."

according to Device Manager, Gigabyte GN-WP01GS PCI WLAN Card( Turbo) #2, "This device is working properly."

I have disabled/enabled the vista's network adapter; the Power Management feature is off; I bought the computer yesterday;

any thoughts?

thanks,

Shannon

why is the firewall preventing the wireless network adapter from communicating with the router?

Hi :)

The answer is To Prevent You From any attack inside your network.

P.S

Some Routers or AP's has a feature Whitch is " Manage Via Wireless ", You Should enable it to access the AP via wireless, otherwise you should use a cable.
