TELNET QUESTION

System is Windows XP Pro, IIS 5 and fully up-to-date.

Sending Mail using Telnet appears to be working (almost) OK EXCEPT that the Last Line always says "Queued Mail for Delivery" and the Message is dumped into "C:\Inetpub\MailRoot\Queue".

When I 'Open' this .EML File it is a normal E-Mail EXCEPT that the To: Line says 'none'.

It doesn't matter whether I enter my E-Mail Address or that of someone else that I know is valid.

Normal E-Mail via Outlook Sends and receives OK.

So there are 2 questions

1) Why isn't the Message being sent.

2) Why is the To: saying 'none'.

I suppose the answers are that Telnet cannot contact the recipient and therefore says 'none' because noone has received anything.

Additionally I have a problem sending SMTP Mail programmatically (using Visual Studio 2003, VB.Net and ASP.Net) with "SmtpMail.Send(Message)".

This sends Mail OK to any valid Address OTHER than my own.

This has worked faultlessly for the past 5+ Years but stopped working suddenly on or shortly after the 29th September 2010.

So far my ISP (Tiscali) hasn't responded to the question "have they made any changes to my Address being an Open Relay" or Port 25.

I would really appreciate comment as to why Telnet fails and any workaround.

Sorry, I haven't used TELNET in 15 or more years, let alone sending mail over it. I don't think many of us here remember how that worked.

But maybe if you list the command sequence you use, someone might spot what could be wrong.
