Why Slow Upload To One Place Only???

I have a Wordpress blog on a hosting server. Usually works fine. About a week ago I found I would get a 'server error' message when I tried to post a post greater than about 40 words.

Much corry with Wordpress forums and my hosting provider has led nowhere. The hosting providers claim it is the fault of my upload speed and I should ask my ISP why it is so slow.

But the fact is that it is NOT slow. It checks out fine every time I test it.

AND I CAN make these posts if I go via a proxy such as abm.me When I do that the posts get made with no trouble at all.

AND, of course, the files, the text, which my hosters are claiming my upload speed is too slow with is uploaded in a trice to abm.me, no problems at all.

So: It is NOT my upload speed - to anywhere else at all. BUT I guess it well may be my upload speed to this particular connection: Wordpress on my host's server.

Has anyone ever heard of any such thing? Any idea how/what it could be?

My error logs from the host's server and within my domain said this, today:

[ipolli.com] [Mon Dec 06 00:47:07 2010] [error] [client 206.113.193.50] File does not exist: /home/domains/ipolli.com/robots.txt

[ipolli.com] [Mon Dec 06 08:37:11 2010] [error] [client 203.171.115.83] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: Error reading request entity data, referer: http://ipolli.com/blog/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=post

Every request to make this post seems to be preceded by a request for this favicon.ico file which doesn't seem to exist... if this has anything to do with it I don't know......

I should add that at the same time the same problem occurred with another blog on a different domain I have on that same server and that I created a new blog simply for testing this thing and it happens on it, too.

So it is not something specific with the wordpress blogs. Two of them are the latest update and one is prior to that.

It has me beat...

I am not an expert in this area, but let me formulate my thoughts.

You know that when your computer communicates with any server on the internet it is not a 1:1 direct communication, it may go through quite a few connections in between. To find out through what nodes you go, issue a traceroute command; it will show you exactly the way your data goes, how long it takes from node to node, and even where packets may get lost on their way.
