bighank
Have a high speed laser printer locally attached to a PC on a FIOS based LAN. How do I determine the //hostname/devicename to be entered on LAN attached PCs wanting to install a network printer (the printer already attached as a local printer on another PC) and send print streams to it? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
The host name is the name of the local PC where the printer is attached to. The device name is the name of the printer you gave when you shared the printer on the local PC. Once you shared the printer, the other computers on the LAN can find the shared printer by just looking for it.
toten
I hope this may solve your problem, Sample: \\PC1\laser printer\ (make sure you shared your printer in the local PC whre the printer attached)or \\IP Address\laser printer\
