quizereus
Hello there, I have joined this site and am posting for the 1st time, I hope to find a cure for a problem .My Girlfriends Toshiba Laptop has died, she bought a desktop for £60 to replace it. She got a Dell Dimension 3100The Tosh was Vista but the Desktop is XP PRO SERVICE PACK 2I have tried windows to upgrade to SP3 but I.E. just dies when I try to download it from the Windows site?My main problem though is that the integrated sound card does not work. This has happened since I re-installed XP PRO.I have googled and found 2 programs- DRIVER DETECTIVE and WINZIP DRIVER REPAIR. Both scanned the p/c and found multiple driver issues but would not repair without a fee.I do not want to pay a fee only to find that the problem is not fixed afterwards. Is there any free driver check and repair programs? I have tried the Dell Suport site, but her I.E ( version 8) drops the site after 2 attempts to load the page.If I can do a Driver update I feel the problem might get fixed, any ideas? Thanks, Quiz. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I have googled and found 2 programs- DRIVER DETECTIVE and WINZIP DRIVER REPAIR.There are lots of stupid driver update programs out there; the only reliable one I have found is DriverMax.There is a paid version, and there is a free version that allows two driver downloads per day. I have used the free version successfully for many years.
