Guest Posted October 9, 2003 Report Share Posted October 9, 2003 Nokia today launched a pair of handsets based on its 3650 phone, the tri-band 3660 and the 3620, the former aimed at the European and Far Eastern markets, the latter at North America. Both are GSM/GPRS handsets. Like the 3650, the two new models run the Symbian OS and the Series 60 GUI. An integrated 640 x 480 digicam can take still and moving images, which can be played back on the 16-bit 176 x 208 display. The screen appears to be the chief feature that distinguishes the new models from the 3650, which had a 4096-colour display. The other is a remodelled, non-circular keypad. Some 3.4MB of memory is available to store video, stills, downloaded games and ringtones, and PIM data on the new handsets, but you can add more using the phones' Multimedia Card slots. Both ship with a 16MB memory card. Each handset provided Bluetooth and IR connectivity for syncing. For Internet access both provide POP 3 and IMAP 4 email support, plus an integrated XHTML browser.
