pewpewmarc
Apologies if I've put this into the wrong thread sub-section, but out of all of them, this was probably the most relatable/correct. I think....? 😅  Been testing out a bunch of best AI tools for generating AI character overt the past couple weeks, mainly stuff like Inworlds AI for gaming, Reallusion Characther Creation 4 tech, and of course, can't forget the Character.AI, and I’ve got mixed feelings that I wanted to share, and maybe get some input from others here, just so I can align myself if I've maybe gotten things wrong.  Anyhow, some of them are wildly impressive with how fast they simulate natural back-and-forth conversation, but they all tend to hit the same wall: after a while, you start seeing the loops. You’ll say something personal, and the AI just sort of nods at it without actually responding. Tried branching out a bit and landed on Candy AI, it’s not the same kind of sandbox as the others, more focused on creating custom characters with specific personalities and looks. Definitely leans into that more adult/fantasy-driven experience, so it’s niche, but it doesn’t feel like you’re babysitting the model as much.  One thing I’m still chewing on: do any of these actually get better over time? Like, do they learn your tone or your preferences, or is it just rinse and repeat? Curious if anyone’s tried linking personality templates across tools, or mixing characters with more narrative-driven engines?  Also… Anyone else notice that they all struggle hard with sarcasm? It’s like the pink elephant in the room that no one coded for.
