Guest spook Posted February 20, 2003 Report Share Posted February 20, 2003 The Mad Onion concludedI changed my Via 4-1 drivers, from the I-so-don't-recommend-you-try-these 'Hyperion' ones back to something more prosaic, just plain old 4 in 1s (the most recent). Et voila! (As the Francais are fond of saying.)Well, I'm not sure which way round it was, but I did buy a cheapish GF4MX440 card as back up and tried that out in the machine also - not that it cured the problem though.The thing to note is, the prob started with 3D mark 03 running, that all the tech people I spoke to in this felt what ever drivers were installed etc would not affect the (non windows) boot up screens, the VGA, RAID and MOBO BIOS corruption, so that's not quite correct then, it seems - Via 4 in 1s being integral to the whole setup.Much relieved now and it's only taking me since I started this thread to sort the problem out... :( But at least it's finally sorted :lol: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Hope you warm to it some more - you will have to put up with a great many selfish obnoxious adolescent scoundrels, but I'm sure they'll behave themselves more when you gun 'em down some... hee hee hee.So good to have the comp working right again. Hope it stays this way for a few weeks... I'll be online tonite again by the way - telly looks its usual crappy self, so Battlefield it will be. Remember to patch to version 1.3 I think it currently is. And the Rome expansion pack means some Italian sounding maps will mean finding a game on servers will be a bit more tedious than normal, but believe me, it's heaps better than the ultra crud demo servers - except if you're setting one up yourself of course.If you post more details about your sound prob I will see if I can help Ordep.
