There's a nice mod called Chaos in Sanctury it weighs in at a 11mb download from the Phrozen Keep site

http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~phrozenkeep/site/

Actually there are loads of fun mods in here (and it's kind of sad how much fun just changing a few things can mean in this game)

The CiS mod changes monsters, items, method, skills, spells and so on for a (so far) totally different experience even though most of the tasks are the same. (I was up till three am this morning playing this damn mod!)

Enjoy. B)

Hi Dan - nice site, nice find. Never played any of these types of games before, but I think i'm feeling brave enough these days to try something a little more 'involving', if that's the right word.

It would make a change from 'just' running around and killing things I suppose. Might look into this kind of thing, then, see what if I can find something that's not too hard to learn. Cheers.

Dearest Sir Dan of Overthere-place,

As a hardened Diablo 2 gamer I was wondering if you could recommend me some of the better mods to download... Ones which will give me ACTION, DRAMA and ROMANCE.. or failing that.. ones which would make playing through the game again worthwhile....

I'm not up-to-speed with the world of Diablo at all, be gentle with me...

Hi there Mr Pig.

Well, as I've mentioned to you before I am currently playing through with a mod by the name of AR-SE which stands for Ancestral Recall Skills Enhanced and it's a nice mod with lots of stuff easier to get at, nicer drops, and more monsters and is altogether a nicer off line solo game than the original.

There is also the AR-CS mod on the same site being Ancestral Recall Classic Skills. (I've not played it as it may be too skillful for me :P

Anyhow look here for those two.... http://www.planetdiablo.com/teknokyo/

The mod I mentioned in opening on this thread is pretty fun, especially with the new monsters but it's also pretty tricky as there seems to be a lot of immunities knocking around, but there's new stuff and new reciepies etc It's quite a different look I think.

This one called Crusades looks like it might be fun but I'm waiting for version 1.04 to come out, still I keep checking back in the hope.... http://www.planetdiablo.com/crusades/

Eastern Sun is one of the most popular mods out there though I never really got attached still, you can find it here and it looks like there's a new version available.

Aside from that I'd just keep an eye on phrozen keep as it's the best source for Diablo mods and news (as far as news go there is supposed to be a new patch coming up in the none too distant future v1.10 though what it will do is anyone's guess)

Enjoy yourself Mr Pig.

Strangely enough although I play these mods I've never actually finished the game which is a shame cause I'd like to do the cow run and play it in hell at least once.

Not that there's much out worth spending money on <_<

Hello spook.

(Not feeding back much into UT at present you will have noticed. Im just not playing it much. UT original seems a little unhappy on XP and lovely as it looks I'm still not entirely happy with UT2003. So I've dropped back into the aforementioned Diablo2.)

Mr Pig, one thing though...

If you've not used mods before in D2 - DO remember to back up your key files (basically anything you're going to change) and also most mods are not save game interchangeable so you'll probably need to take new characters through. V imp about those key files though unless you like reinstalling the game everytime you want to change mods.

Awww... you do care...

Thanks for that Dan, I'll try not to destroy my computer while playing around with them...

Mr Pig, it's not so much that I care. I just don't want to find you using the "oh no, the mod wrecked my computer" excuse for abandoning a game of LSN. Ya know, it's like those lame " had to reinstall the hard drive" yarns that people will insist on using, especially when they're losing. I don't know. some people huh?!

:P

(Now Hard drive don't you dare make me eat my words...)
