  1. I have an XPpro machine with a firewire card that used to work fine. After a crash, I've gotten the machine back running fine again other than this Firewire card. Going to most sites, MS included; the drivers are native to your OS and aren't needed separately. My problem is, so what happens when they aren't? I cannot get this 1394 Adaptec card to work properly (yellow ? in my device mgr). SOMEWHERE there must be an opportunity to see the file names necessary and even download the driver files. I started to try "Driver detective" or "PC Unleashed" but after having lost my Internet connection (regained now), don't think I'll put that level of trust in a program like that again. I suspect I'm missing a single file for this card - just don't know the name of the file to hunt for. TIA for any help.
