Michelle
Does anyone know if renting a serviced office should show vat included in the rental? I've rented a serviced office in different areas and not paid vat and the latest one charges vat.
Sir Radfordin
Have a feeling that it is something that the landlord can decide to charge or not as they wish.Best to check with an accountant though!
Guest northamuk
You can't just decide whether or not to charge VAT, if you are Vat registered you have to add VAT. If your turnover is under the threshhold and you are not VAT registered you can't charge VAT.
Michelle
So it looks like if the landlord is themselves registered for vat they have to charge it. Thanks for replies.
Sir Radfordin
http://www.hmce.gov.uk/forms/notices/742.htm may help answer some questions...if you can get your head round it!
andsome
Your receipt should show the VAT number. Check on it with HM Customs.
