Guest Nellie2
I seem to have acquired a little problem which, although it isn't drastic, is driving me slightly nutty.Windows 98 SE.......I seem to have lost the file association for all my JPEGS and GIFs. When I go into the files where they are stored all I see are those little window pictures. Usually when you try to open one of these you get a box pop up asking which program you want to use to open the file......but when I double click on them nothing happens and when I right click on them I am not getting the option to 'open' or 'open with'.However....... I do get the preview when I click on them and I can open up paintshop and then open my pictures using the program that way.The only thing I have installed or uninstalled recently is Outlook....went on then came off and Eudora......that went on and came off too. Neither of them took any shared thingies with them when they went as far as I know.Any ideas....... I don't want to fiddle any more in case I make an annoying situation into a bad one.....thought I would see what you come up with.Oh, I have run SFC.....no probs there!!! Prince of Calcutta
that happens when you right click inside the folder, i'm asking you to press shift and simultaneously right click on the jpeg or gif file itself.
Prince of Calcutta
if thats what you did and it didn't work then i'm out of my depth here :(
Prince of Calcutta
you could try going to folder option in control panel and going to the file types tab , scroll down till you get to jpeg (or click the 1st file type and press jpeg on your keyboard) and edit the properties thereunder the 'open with' section you can click change and specify a program so that from now on all jpegs will open with that particular program you choose
