prctr
Windows XP Home will NOT allow me to install my HP 5p SCSI scanner, nor does it like any of my printers, from the HP v40xi All-in-One, the HP PhotoSmart P1000, to the Brother HL-1440 laser. I am tired of trying to force drivers down it's throat; I was able to get the printers (but not the scanner) installed on Win2k network machines, but XP will NOT tolerate them. So....................rather than fight it, since I have two empty 80GB drive partitions, how will I install Win98 on a partition, so as to allow me to use the "archaic" peripherals, and if I am successful, will I be able to print and scan documents when using the partition that is XP, or must I "log-on" to the Win98 partition to make use of those peripherals? Or, can someone suggest a way to "slice" one of those partitions into a few smaller pieces, ONE of which has Win98 on it? (How big does the partition need to be for this use?) I am not familiar with creating partitions - would you use something like the Ranish - is it Partition Magic / Manager? application? B) Is what I am describing a "dual boot" system? Any and all help will be appreciated; the scanner works great and so do the printers - why is XP such a snit about it? :censored:
