Ready to upload my site

Hi everyone! :D

I have completed some pages of my site and I thought I'd upload and test it out (lots more pages to add yet, though).

I'm using WS_FTP to upload it and hope I won't have any problems. However, my site is on my hard disc in a folder named "my website". I used MS Word to create it and I saved the pages in this folder. But Word (by itself) also created new folders in the "my website" folder which contain the images.

Now what's got me puzzled is that when I upload it, do I upload the page files and then the folders containing the images just as they are on my hard disc in the "my website" folder? Or do I just upload all the files - pages and images - and not the folders that Word created? I suspect I upload it just as it is on my hard disc but having never uploaded anything before I keep thinking too much and coming up with problems that probably don't exist - if you know what I mean.

Hope I'm making all this clear. Thanks in advance for any advice. Got to log off for about an hour but will come back as soon as I can.

I upload my site to a file called /htdocs, then in that folder i upload the pages of the site....ie index.htm...........then i create a new folder under /htdocs called Images....i then upload all my jpgs/gifs to this folder.....i use cuteftp..so its a fairly easy drag and drop technique.......dont know about ws_ftp as ive never used it but it cant be that different.

Just try certain ways out......you can always ged rid of them and upload it again.

Thanks, Damo. I had some problems but the site is up and running now. One problem was that I hadn't noticed my connection had dropped and I was playing about wondering why nothing worked.

I'll start a new thread requesting members visit the site and offer advice etc.

Thanks again, Damo.

(I can't believe I've done it at last) :D
