Sir Radfordin
Moving house in the week (well I will be if the paperwork gets done...don't worry only renting!).So have to do fun things like sort out services. The key one being a phone line so we can get ADSL asap. It is here we hits a few problems.Firstly the flat has only just been built and as yet doesn't have a postcode. That means no company can find the address...and to be fair you can't blame them since it doesn't have one.Second problem is that when you try and ring BT on their "Sales, Service and Billing" telephone number the first thing you have to do is enter your phone number. Er...I want a new phone line so I don't have a phone number!?I can see it is going to be a fun week!
djohn
Just enter the phone number you are calling from Sir Rad, that will get you through to talk to someone as long as your using a BT line.
Sir Radfordin
Indeed it would Djohn - but if you are a non-BT customer wanting to "buy from BT" then your a little stuck! I did however work out that if you give it enough wrong numbers it then gives you some options.Credit to BT though, they have a system where you can leave your 'calling card' in the que and get called back one any number (including a mobile) when you reach the front. That's an idea I like (and it worked!)
