Guest Damo Posted March 15, 2003 Report Share Posted March 15, 2003 Well....im seriously hacked off!........today i moved my pc around, set it back up, pluged every thing in turned it on...and Nothing......the PC itself starts up but no display comes up the monitor just stays on standby!!! :angry: Dunno what it is? probably something really simple, but ive a feeling its the graphics card, we've always had dodgy wiring in the house?Any one any ideas? Prince of Calcutta Posted March 16, 2003 Report Share Posted March 16, 2003 had a similar problem once , turned out to be the monitor.. the power adaptor or power block , had shorted out.. worked fine after getting it changed. was a bit expensive that time but way cheaper than getting a new monitor! Guest ironman556 Posted March 17, 2003 Report Share Posted March 17, 2003 Sorry to look on the black side but, my dad had a problem with his PC not starting, the fan would come on, but nothing else. Turned out that the CPU had been fried (luckily it was an old PII, but still did what he needed), probably had a power surge through it as it was just after those storms we had a while ago.
