In LINE OF SIGHT: VIETNAM your job is to locate elusive enemy soldiers and pick them off one-by-one. Whether patiently waiting for the enemy to show himself or delivering a pre-emptive strike, the method is the same - be quick, be quiet, and be careful. That's what will get you home alive. The demo contains a tutorial, a single player mission, 3 multiplayer maps and 4 multiplayer modes.

It's a 174.2 MB download from Fileplanet.com, and you need to register before you can download it. Gamers Hell.com (one of my favoured download places, although it now seems to be succumbing to pop-ups), has said this about the demo and about Fileplanet:

I'll give some importance to this demo, even if the game is not worth much (using deadly dozen engine and not introducing anything new).

We are p*ssed at all these FilePlanet exclusives, we are considering to start boycotting anything that goes exclusive there, maybe trying to get 3dGamers and other free download sites to do the same. I guess this will mean publishers forced to stop supporting this unfair behaviour at the price of loosing big coverage otherwise.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

Anyway...

Since Vietnam seems to be the current flavour for quite a few games developers, I wonder when we'll get to see a game of M*A*S*H? Maybe in a Monkey Island styled adventure game? Ooooh... the possibilties...

** The demo can now also be downloaded (without registration) from Worthplaying.com, Gamers Hell and 3D Gamers **

Each to their own, but I loved Monkey Islands sense of humor, and although the new control system is a bit strange after years of pointing and clicking - I think I may have got used to it...

Plus, point-and-click was a huge advancement over the text adventures of yester-year...

Well, after three seperate attempts at downloading this failed, I give up, I was going to tell you all the juicy details about how interesting it was, and such, but nevermind...

There's a review here, that'll save my sanity...
