Daredevil Posted August 2, 2004 Report Share Posted August 2, 2004 I"m not sure if this the the right forum for this but I'm sure the mods will be kind enough to move it if it's not.I reinstalled my laptop over the weekend, finally got frustrated with Debian so back to Gentoo I go, and was busy adding my Firefox extensions when I came across one name "Stumble Upon". Looking into it it's a very cool idea. You simply install the browser add on (an extension for us Firefox users, a toolbar for IE), enter your interests and you're done. To use it you just click on the Stumble button and you're taken to a random website that people with similar interests to you have rated highly. You can rate the site yourself, and any other site you might be at.If you're only interested in one of your interests at the time you can filter by interests as well. Overall I think this is a very novel idea, basically a community driven search engine, but don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself.
