Kirbster
Hi,I've come into possession of an 80gb hard drive out of my mate's computer, which he doesn't want anymore, it is partitioned into 4 seperate drives. I want to install it into my computer as a slave, but what will happen when I put it in as it already has a C: drive, basically I want to install it, then format everything, don't mind leaving it as 4 partitions. How do I go about this??
expertec
Set the jumpers on it to slave, then connect it into your computer. (use the other connector on the hard drive cable, and a spare power connector). The drive in your computer will stay as whatever it is already, if you have just one partition, your drive will be C, and the other one will be D,E,F and G. You can just right click the new ones in My Computer or explorer and do format.(I actually did this a couple of hours ago) :D
Kirbster
so they'll just take unassigned drive letters then when the hard drive is plugged in as a slave? I already have C, D, E, F so the new drives will be G,H,I,J?
