Logon Failure: user account restriction

I have two computers networked together and when I try to connect to my WinXP computer from my Win2000 computer (and not the other way around), I have to type in my WinXP username and password. It remembers it until I restart, then I have to type it in again to connect. This would not be a problem except I have a printer on the WinXP computer and cannot reach it unless I am signed in. Is there a way to make my computer remeber this information, or even better, not require it at all?

Well, if you would like NOT to have a login for it (which i suggest not doing) you can goto Start > Settings > Control Panel > Click on Users and Passwords, and uncheck "Users must enter a username and password to log in"

Windows XP doesn't have that option, and since I am trying to logon on to that computer that won't work. It is already unchecked on the other computer.

You could set up a remote user.

When you turn on one computer, log in with a certain user, it's actually a user on the other computer?
