mchael
I have an old application that gets the dreadedRun time error, 2004, out of memoryproblem. I have 1GB of memory and if I have 512MB or set MAXMEM=512 in my Windows XP Pro boot.ini then it will work.If there anyway or software tool to set the maximum memory for this application. I have tried all the compatibility options to no avail.Having to use MAXME in the boot.ini and restart my system each time just to use on piece of software is annoying. Does any one have suggestions or know of a tool that I can use to set the amount of memory at runtime? Thanks in advanceMichael
Unisol
Is it a DOS based program or what?
mchael
it is a 32bit Windows program developed in 1997, an old Encyclopeadia which they do not make any more.
expertec
Have you tried running it in compatability mode?
mchael
tried all the different compatibility modes to no avail. I am sure there must be a way to run this in a seperate memory process and trick it into thinking the system only has less than 512MB when I want to use it?Is there no software around that can do this?
