Minor problem with my website

Hi all. ;)

I've been making some changes to my site, one of which is to add a links page. As you may know, I use frames and each tutorial page opens in the main frame. However, I've added a links page which opens in the main frame (which is OK) but clicking on a link opens that page in the same frame and I want it to open the link in a new window. I don't know how to do it in MS Word. I've been messing around for ages but I still can't discover how to do it. Anyone have any ideas?

Here's the link to My Site.

Thanks :D

Pete

IM not to sure about Using Word pete but, when you set up the hyperlink, the Target needs to be set to _blank like i say, im not to sure where it is in word (i dont have it on this pc) but look out for 'Target'

Maybe Madboy can help

Thanks, Damo. I'll try it out tomorrow. Haven't got time now - got to go soon. I've been looking at the HTML code that Word writes and I've found the bit pointing to the web addresses so maybe it's just a matter of adding the "_blank" bit.

Word makes it easy to add hyperlinks and set pages to open in the frames. But no matter what I try, there seems no easy way to have the actual links open in a new window if the links page is in a frame. Perhaps I'm missing something. As I say, I'll try your bit of code and see if that does it.

Thanks again, Damo. ;)

add............target="_blank" to the same place where mine is.....ie just after the link destination.....dont forget the 'target' bit aswell.

Im sure theres an easier way of doing it in word without having to edit the code, but im unfamilier with word.

PS the sites looking good mate!

There is also a bit of java script you can add to open a new window of a specified size. If you check out one of the photo pages on my site you will see what I mean.

If you want the code email me and I'll send a full explanation of how to use it. (Too knackered to do it now!)

Cheers, whiz... :sleep

Thanks again for the code, Damo. I've sent you a PM. Oh! I've just got your reply - thanks.

Glad your Mum-in-law is happy, Tony. I'll do a site about using MSN Messenger with web cams for her next - and then you won't be able to pull funny faces as you speak to her. LOL.

Thanks, Whiz. I'll look at your site. That bit of code should come in handy - I'll be in touch.

I hope to finish my site within the next couple of weeks (there's always something else to do - like go to work).

Thanks again for the assistance and positive comments. ;)

Pete

(I will more than likely need your help again  ).
