Blank text in Outlook 2003 Email

I have received an Email from a friend which is a reply to an Email I sent

to him - he has included my text in the message body but his text does not

appear when I open the message in Outlook 2003.

I can see the first two lines of his text in the inbox message listing but

when I click on the message to open it his text is not visible either above

or below my original text and there is a message bar in the header that

states "Follow Up".

The same problem exists if I use webmail to access the message.

I do not normally use Outlook Express - but I tried using it to download all

messages from my Internet Provider and his message is fine - I can see his

text above my original text.

What is going on here?

Hi Alan. Have a look in tools/options/preferences/email options button. Half way down the dialogue box see the "On replies and forwards" title and see what is displayed in the window.

You can alter the setting [5 to choose from] there to allow all the original text or just the headings to show in mail that you send/receive from mail that is replied to or forwarded on. It may just need altering from there. dj. :unsure:

Thanks for the thought - I had already tried playing with those settings but to no avail even though I doubted that it may be the cause because other messages from the same friend are OK - as are messages from other people.

It's no big deal - because I read the message in Outlook Express - but I am curious why and how it happened. If the first two lines of my friends message had not been visible in the Inbox window I would never have known that he had added to my text.

Funny things these computers - seem to have a mind of their own sometimes.
