Microfone unwanted disabled due to 5.1 config

Recommended Posts

Hallo Everyone :),

after setting up my 5.1 speakers using Nvidias NVMixer Wizard the driver seems to use my microphone jack for something else.

!This is not a problem of loudness/microphone configuration under sounds and audio devices - I´m aware that I have to turn up the record/micro volume of the microfone in normal cases! :(

After installing the new driver nForce 4.27 for my Nvidia Mainboard Asus A7N8X and after using the Speaker Wizard to set up my 5.1 system the microphone jack of my mainboard seems to be disabled.

I also remember that it is used to have the output for the subwoofer in some cases so micro is replaced by subwoofer. But all my 6 speakers are working now without being plugged into the microphone jack.

My problem is that I can´t reverse the setting the wizard made. When I try to use my microfone and set my system to 2 speakers (unsing the windows function or NVMIxer) my microphone jack is not given free again.

How can I tell the NVidia driver to let loose of that port again without having to deinstall/reinstall the drivers.

How is the relation between 5.1 and the microphone port anyway so that I can understand what is happening here.

regards
