Scribbler
After upgrading to XP SP2 my network card has vanished! It is a Realtek RTL8139 fast ethernet and worked perfectly until this upgrade.Device manager doesn't see it and if I manually install the card it "cannot start" (yellow ! mark). When I "show hidden devices" it still shows the packet scheduler miniport but not the card itself. In fact it's as if the card simply isn't plugged in (although it is of course)On bootup BIOS recognises it on IRQ 11 but not Windows. I've looked in "view resources by type" under IRQ and all components have (ISA) as the prefix. (could this be the problem?) The only mention Windows makes of it is in System Information > Components > Problem Devices. Here it says that "This device is disabled" which is less than helpful.I'm not a newbie to this and I'm a bit confused! Bloody Microsoft! __________________AMD Athlon XP 2000+ 512mb DDR 60gb Maxtor 7200rpm ATA-133 HDDNVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti 4200M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496Realtek RTL8139 Fast Ethernet NICUSB Cable ModemCD-RW / DVD-RomUSB 2.0Windows XP Pro SP2

If the Service status isStopped, click Start.
