johanesw Posted October 29, 2004 Report Share Posted October 29, 2004 Hello guys, I just installed win2k3 on my computer, and started surfing the web when I noticed that my bandwidth speed is much slower than my speed in my previous os (winxp pro)...when I download files in the net, my average speed was around 300 KBps in winxp pro, but when i installed win2k3, my average speed became 100 KBps...Does any of you know what's causing this? A long time ago with winxp, I did a bandwidth test similar to this (I used CNet I think), and the result was around 1 Megabit per second...(I live in Japan).I just did another CNET bandwidth test, and the result was 468 Kiliobit per second....:'(My internet connection uses point to point protocol over ethernet....After that, I did another test on Japanese server. Cus when i go at my friends place ( got 4mbit ) i get like 500kbps and with 8mbit you can get like 900kbps.. There is 100+ computers using the same 10mb connection, and we have a 3mb backbone connection going to the internet server and 10mb from the server.......... Sorry I forgot to explain.
