Chris Posted November 29, 2004 Report Share Posted November 29, 2004 More than likely yes.Without knowing what type of system recovery your computer comes with it's difficult to say.But usually system recovery disks wipe everything and will make your computer how it was the first time you switched it on.There is no way around programs as you would have to reinstall them [without complicating it]. jmathis Posted November 29, 2004 Author Report Share Posted November 29, 2004 Thanks Powerless, I'm trying to download SP2 and i keep getting error message "c:\windows\system32\ftp.exe" is being used by another program. Anyway my thought is something is corrupt, so i thought if i could restore my xp i might have success. but i do not want to loose all my programs and internet stuff (e-mail and bull s***)..
