SmokingMan
I run XP Pro with SP2. I have seperate accounts set up for different users. I have my son set up with a limited account. I would like to give his account the ability to downlaod and install updates, such as a new Shockwave update. But I don't want him to have full access so if he can delete our Admin accounts or change their passwords. Right now I have to change his account to Admin, install the update or program, and then change it back to a limited account. How do I give him the permission to do that without upgrading his account to an Admin account? Or is this possible?
homecomputeraid
I have XP Pro, and I'm much more familiar with that, but you can try right clicking on My Computer and choosing Manage. Go to Groups, and add your son to the Power Users group. Test to make sure he doesn't have any rights or permissions you don't want him to have.If you have XP Home, and these options are not available, please post here.Sincerely,
