prctr
Hello Folks! Been a long time. Hope everyone is well.I am using an old HP ScanJet 5P scanner, with a Symbios-Logic SCSI adapter, and am running Win2K. There appear to be compatibility issues, but I sem to have conquered them by locating a driver for that scanner that supposedly is comaptible with Win2K. B) My glitch is that "no IRQ is assigned" (which translates to me as: " You have no scanner that works," or "cannot find scanner." :o I really like that scanner, and have had it since Win98 days. I hate the idea of having to dual-boot to use it, or having to dedicate one network machine to Win98 so I can use the scanner. HELP ! :( Also, is there a way to "wipe" the network connections and start all over when assembling a network? I am having communication and reciprocity problems with my network, which I have solved to some extent by creating a new Workgroup. But the old stuff stays there. Any help on these issues will be, as always, much appreciated.Prctr
homecomputeraid
prctr,How old is the SCSI Adapter? Does it have a jumper for assigning the IRQ? If it does, make sure you assign an IRQ that doesn't conflict with anything else. Can you start a new post for the Networking issues in the Networking Forum? I'd rather answer there than have a split topic here. When you post there, please include a description of your network, and what you want to accomplish. i.e. What Operating Systems are involved, do you have a Router/Firewall, Wireless or Cabled, and what's not working.Sincerely,
