Shirley Crabtree
Hi all.I'm having some difficulties with sound on my PC. :( A) All my Explorer sounds have stopped working but games sound and music players (WMP,Realplayer etc) work fine.B ) I have no sound when I play flash animations, yet flash games have perfect sound  I'm a bit flummoxed at the moment.Any ideas gratefully received. As an afterthought Incredimail now has no sounds either and IT uses flash to create sounds. Also I've uninstalled flash player using their tool and reinstalled it but to no avail.Shirl.Merry Christmas :X

homecomputeraid
Hi Shirley,What Operating System do you use? Do you have a speaker icon in your system tray (the area usually on the right of the Task Bar near the clock)? If so, double click it and make sure nothing's muted. To test your windows sound, go to Control Panel, Sounds and find the Sounds tab. You'll see a list of Windows sounds. Hilite one of the sounds and click the play button. You should hear sounds if your windows sounds are working. Please post here if you need more help! :)

nellie2
Do you think you might need to re-install the drivers? I'm just guessing here by the way.

homecomputeraid
I'm with Nel on this. Sounds like it's time to try reinstalling your drivers. Do you have any idea how to do that? If you need help with it, please post. Make sure you have the drivers before you uninstall/reinstall. :)

Cpt James T. Kirk
check to make sure the sound and something else is not running the same irq. that would be a conflict.
