homecomputeraid
Hello Heliocentric,Did you ever have an Internet Connection, and an account with an Internet Service Provider? If so, what Internet Service Provider do you use? They usually have some software and some configuration information to help you set it up. homecomputeraid
Do you know how to test that the modem's installed correctly? What Operating System? I'd like to help you run a diagnostic test on the Modem, but I have to know the OS to tell you where to find it.
scuzzman
Are you sure your dialup modem is properly functioning? Without an operating system, we can't really help you. But, I can tell you this. Open Device manager 1) Right-click "My Computer"2) Select PropertiesIf running windows 2000/XP - Go to the hardware tab - click the button labeled device managerIf running win9x/me - click the device manager tabseek out your Dialup modem and double-click itmake sure under "Device Status" it reads "This device is working properly"
Guest heliocentric
its xp proffesionali very sure the modem is installed correctly, it says the device is working properly and i can run a 'query' test and it connects to the modem and gives me info....i just done understand why the modem option is greyed out...i think its a software problem rather than a hardware one, althought i could be wrong
