xadamz23
Hello,Windows XP Pro SP2I'm having a weird problem. I go to "Control Panel" then "Power Options". Under the "Power Schemes" drop down menu I select "Home/Office Desk" and under "Turn off Monitor" I select "After 20 mins". The problem is that somehow this setting automatically turns to Never. It might take days, or hours for this to happen. It does NOT happen after a reboot. Could defrag somehow be doing this???? Any ideas as to why this is happening???Thanks in advance,Adam

xadamz23
right click empty space on desktop, select properties, screen saver then the power option. Now set your monitor and see what happenThanks, but that takes me to the EXACT same dialog box as the Control Panel. I want to know why it is switching back to "Never" by itself. sskagent
So if you change it to 20 minutes close it, and then check back its never, or does it take awhile to switch over?

So something must be causing it. Defrag doesnt cause it does it? I run Diskeeper which automatically defrags my drive every night. But, the setting does NOT go back to "Never" everyday. It seems like a random thing and I have no idea what is causing it.
