I have a folder in my OL folder list that has no name, and connot be opened or deleted. I have had this for a long time now; it is annoying me, and I want to get rid of it. Just how...? See below, above the Archive Folders.

When I right-click on it, I get the following pull-down menu

No idea where that strange folder name is coming from.

When I try the Close option I get a message "You cannot close the folder that contains your calendar, contacts, and inbox." (calendar, contacts, inbox are located on the Exchange Server folder above).

When I try the Open option I get "The set of folders could not be opened. The requested information store could not be found in the active profile." (a similar message was issued when I clicked on the [+] left of the folder icon, now showing a [-]).

Any suggestion how to get rid of it? (I have searched the registry for "0w#25", but there's nothing in there).

OK, found it! While I was entering the question above, Windows Search was still searching all files on my C: drive for the constant "0w#25". And found it in Thunderbird's news cache., pointing to news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlook

But the message had already disappeared, so I did a Google search. Looks like several other people had the same problem, having a "ghost" folder in Outlook.

The solution is to delete the Outlook profile, then create a new one. Did it, and it's fixed.
