Boris Posted April 9, 2003 Report Share Posted April 9, 2003 he he :-)™Depending on your O/S - you get PC-cillin 7.5 or PC-cillin 2000 from the Halifax. Neither are the latest versions. I believe that the updates are free for a year - mine's been going since last November.Having used both, PC-cillin makes your PC slower (with a PII 350 I do notice such things) than if you use AVG - because of the way it real-time scans.If you're on pay-as-you-go dial-up - PC-cillin has smaller updates than AVG.Both are very good in what they do. I personally use AVG as the resident scanner, download the PC-cillin updates as well and do a full scan of both every couple of weeks.For detecting trojans, backdoors etc - GAV is better than both.
