Task Scheduler Service - Missing Tasks on Boot

Recommended Posts

I have a Windws 2000 SP4 system that on Boot tells me via a Task Scheduler Service pop up! that "Some tasks did not execute at their scheduled times because the Task Scheduler Service was not running. You can view the list of missed tasks, and attemtp to run them again, from within the Scheduler Tasks Folder". I added the screen shot as an attachment 12kb

All fine and good but I don't have any scheduled tasks in my "Scheduler Tasks Folder". Any suggestions where I might go to investigate and or clean house?

Another forum user jumped on this and had the answer. The fix is to go to c:\winnt\tasks folder and get rid of those lingering tasks. The problem was they were hidden files. In my case they were {huge registry entry number_Name.job

I delted the two .job files and all is now working fine.
