persianpower
Hey guysIs there an EASY way to change the cluster size of a drive without formating it?------------------------------------Anyone know the meaning of memory leaks? Sometimes when i leave my computer on overnight i come back to it and its slow as hell. The fastest its ever been is right after a boot and it seems like it gradually slows down (though very marginally). Id just like to know some causes for memory leaks and how to avoid them-------------------------------------Does anyone know what these devices are?I have 5 BUS ADAPTERS (one enhanced) ??????????? - Intel 82801EB USB Universal Host Controllers - 24d2, 24d4, 24d7, 24de and one enhanced 24ddI have 4 USB Root Hubs?????????--------------------------------------When i go into BIOS - i see several options which i can change - different computers will have different options right (dependong on thier MOBO, etc..) Am i correct on this? If so, am i limited to the options i see in the BIOS screen or can i import more options from an external source such as a program?--------------------------------------in IE 6Clicking on favourites should scroll down a menu with different url links in folders and sub folders right? Well i have lots of those, but for some reason they hide themselves from me. SOMETIMES the arrows leading to scrolling sub menus disappear from the IE Favourites drop down menuIn the menu, i have to click on each and every favourites folder seperatley and then an explorer window opens up showing the contents of the folder, then i have to choose the links manually one by one.The convienience is lost.I estimate a problem with the SHELL or CONTEXT MENU? it comes and goes. If i restart IE it usually goes back to normal. Also if i have 2 IE windows open the problem only appears in one window (but this is not always constant)ThanksMY SYSTEM DETAILS.......Windows XP PRO SP2 (build 2600)ACPI Multiprocessor PCMother - Intel D865GBFIntel dual P4 2.8Ghz MMX processor (w/ hyperthreading)Bus clock 200MhzSystem Bus speed - 800MhzSystem Memory speed - 400MhzMEMORY512 RAM (496 physical)~ specifically 2 DIMM @ 256 eachL1 cache - 8kbL2 cache - 512kbVIDEOIntel 82865G Graphics ControllerOEC 15.7" PnP MonitorCD/DVDLite-On DVDRW SOHW-812SSAMSUNG CDROM SC-148HDD75GB Maxtor 6Y080L0 Primary HDD - uncached speed ~ 30MB/s - 4kb cluster size15GB Maxtor 9153IU3 Secondary HDD - uncached speed ` 15Mb/s - 1kb cluster sizeBoth are S.M.A.R.T enabledETC...I have 5 BUS ADAPTERS (one enhanced) - Intel 82801EB USB Universal Host Controllers)I have 4 USB Root Hubs
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Is there an EASY way to change the cluster size of a drive without formating it?Yes, PartitionMagic does it quite easily. When i go into BIOS - i see several options which i can change - different computers will have different options right (dependong on thier MOBO, etc..) Am i correct on this? If so, am i limited to the options i see in the BIOS screen or can i import more options from an external source such as a program?BIOS configuration is limited to what the manufacturer gives you. You can go and check if there are updates available for your BIOS - it may give you more options. But make 100% sure that your BIOS and the update match, otherwise you can trash your computer. cd108
Memory leakage is when sloppy code (normally in games or some thing with fancy GFX) doesnt remind windows nicely to clear out your RAM. After a while your PC keels over because its out of memory. Happened more in Windows 98 then Xp tho.
