skata Posted February 11, 2005 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 Hello I want to set up an ftp server using the built in application , provided by xp pro . ive got a dsl connection with static ip Under Internet Information System / FTPsites / myftp /properties i have issued my ip address 11.11.11.11 tcp port 21 . I think the problem is the Security Accounts. because i ve got it there to allow Anonymous Connections and both following options are ticked - Allow anly anonymous connections , Allow IIS to control password .What i get by typing ftp://11.11.11.11 a window prompts "Log On As" etc etc i choose Log on anonymously but no progress .If you need more information about what i have done so far please ask me . homecomputeraid Posted February 11, 2005 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 Is the FTP Client PC Windows XP? I find the XP Command Line FTP utility to be not that easy to use. Here's a link to a free 3Com GUI Based FTP/TFTP Server/Client program: http://www.3com.com/products/en_US/result....ffdt&order=desc. Scroll down to 3cs117.zip and download, unzip, and run it. See if it helps, and whether it gives you more info about why you're not connecting.[edit]Even though it says it's for Win98, it works with 2000 and XP.
