Standby and hibernate missing

I don't know this for certain but, it seems to me that you only need this function once in a computer, controlled by one operating system of the two installed. If that is the case, the other has probably been disabled by the system.

Sorry, you misunderstand. I wasn't suggesting that you don't need both of the systems, just that standby and hibernate are now controlled by XP which seems to have disabled these functions in W2K.

I does seem logical to have these controlled by one system otherwise you could have conflicts by one O/S telling the machine to shut down and the other telling it not to.
