Elephant_work Posted February 17, 2005 Report Share Posted February 17, 2005 I have in same notebook two operation system: Windows XP professional and windows 2000 professional.In windows 2000 i have not standby and hibernate modes, but in windows XP i have all this futures.my notebook is Compaq Presario 2100How i can fix this problem with stanby? -pops- Posted February 17, 2005 Report Share Posted February 17, 2005 I don't know this for certain but, it seems to me that you only need this function once in a computer, controlled by one operating system of the two installed. I wasn't suggesting that you don't need both of the systems, just that standby and hibernate are now controlled by XP which seems to have disabled these functions in W2K.I does seem logical to have these controlled by one system otherwise you could have conflicts by one O/S telling the machine to shut down and the other telling it not to.
