LeatherLunch Posted February 21, 2005 Report Share Posted February 21, 2005 If I open my Microsoft Internet Explorer from scratch, without exception it fails, prompting a "errors found, error log being created" message. It usually doesn't go away unless I force closing the program. If I open another Explorer during that time (ie. NOT when I have nothing open, sorry for the dbl neg), it works fine and I can surf, no probs.I was recently having problems with missing files, so I reinstalled my Windows 2000 from disc. After doing this I downloaded Avast! Antivirus, scanned with it and AdAware, and access Windows updates.Does anyone have any advice on how to solve my problem? Kirk Posted February 22, 2005 Report Share Posted February 22, 2005 might try a repair on IE. if that dont fix it then unistall IE and get the current version from microsoft. version 6 and install it. if that dont work you may be looking at a reformat/reinstall of the os. then get your updates again. I am not that well up on the workings of computers, but if I were you, I would follow the instructions given on that thread and post a hijack this log as a start.
