Skinner
Hi I have lost the Help & Support Centre 'package' that is accessed from the Start menu. I says files missing. Should I run scf /scannow ?
andsome
It cannot possible do any harm, and I will be surprised if it doesn't solve the problem.

bhuk
Start>Run. type in "msconfig" without the quotes, press return. In the window that pops up click on the Tab for Services - then scroll down to Help & Support and tick box. Close window and follow on screen prompts

Skinner
Tried the recommended procedure above, but only fixes the system to say 'Help Service is not running' Is it because I require a reboot?

Skinner
Can I not just re-install from Windows XP SP2 system disk by selecting install? It says it won't replace programs or files already existing... Will this fix the help center?

Amongst all the masses of things I was doing, halfway through a failed install, I checked the help center and it is back! Thanks everyone it was a heck of an experience...
