When you try to uninstall, AOL will check for old versions and will ask you to select the version for deletion. I don't mean that to disuade you, your Aunt, or anyone from using Aol, but I voted with my wallet and got rid of Aol. In my humble opinion, Aol does NOT live up to its advertisements where customer service and PC friendliness are concerned.It might be good to check for Spyware and remove that. If you need assistance with Spyware, please post in the Hijack This forum. You could also try some utilities to check your registry and repair anything they find. djohn Posted March 22, 2005 Report Share Posted March 22, 2005 Hi bubblez, I'm feeling fine, thank you for asking. :)I've been having a look round to see if I can narrow this down a bit for you. Found a Microsoft knowledge base article on the kernel fault and it seems that AOL is attempting to write a file to the reg that your operating system can't deal with, so throws the fault back at you. Have a look at this link, see if it helps and please post back if you don't sort it or need some more help with carrying out the procedure.Microsoft[Edit] This is for win 98, if your using XP don't follow this instruction.
